Overnight a Landrover Defender was stolen from Downe Activity Centre in Bird House Lane. A large trailer that was parked in the grounds was also stolen. The trailer had a large hitch-lock and it would appear that the trailer was ‘tied’ to the Landrover and they parted company in Luxted Road opposite Captains Croft. The loose trailer buried itself in the bank among the bushes and shrubs.
Police have been informed; there is no sign of the Landrover!

The Village has been extremely busy today with most parking spaces occupied by a film company that is filming scenes for a new BBC series called ‘Informer’. The series is due to be shown next year. The location of the filming is in one of the large houses in the village, mostly in the garden. A large marquee has been erected for one of the scenes.
The vans contain a considerable amount of electrical equipment and generators. Cameras, lights and scaffolding have also been delivered to the site.
The film company is also using a local school for costume changes and make-up.
A number of residents from the village will be taking part as extras.
Clamping has taken place in the village. One car was clamped in Luxted Road and the other one in the High Street. These cars were clamped by the DVLA – beware!
